Sylvia Yazid is a lecturer at and the Head of International Relations Department, Parahyangan Catholic University. Her Bachelor degree is in International Relations from Parahyangan Catholic University. She obtained her Master of Public Policy and Management from Monash University, Melbourne. Her PhD was obtained from the School of Political and Social Inquiry, Monash University, Melbourne. She is a researcher at Parahyangan Centre for International Studies. Her research interest includes policy analysis, labour migration, actor analysis and NGOs. Her other activities include speaking at seminars, participating and speaking in focus group discussions conducted by governmental and non-governmental institutions, and writing articles in mass media
